How An Air Angle Die Grinder Might Be Used (Examples)

There is a couple of things you should know when it comes to air angle die grinder uses.

The first is that the tool is powered by an air hose and air compressor, as opposed to a cord and electricity like an electric die grinder does.

The second is that the tool has a right angle head, as opposed to a head that runs parallel with the tool shaft like a straight die grinder does.

If you want more information on the different types of die grinders, we have a couple of useful guides:

With those things in mind, let’s look at a few uses for air angle die grinders…

What Would You Use These Air Angle Die Grinders For?

As you can see from the Ingersoll Rand – grinding, porting, polishing, de-burring, and breaking sharp edges.

The Ampro places more of an emphasis on grinding and sanding in particular.

Metal workers and automotive workers in particular would benefit from one of these tools.

Note the angle of the head – this will effect you getting deep into space like a straight die grinder might be able to, but gives you better control and precision with the way you hold the tool essentially like a clothes iron.

Also, note that the tools have around 0.4 horsepower, and around 2 inch discs (which is quite small) or small burrs you use as accessories and attachments.

If you need to grind, sand or port larger or more heavy duty areas of surfaces – you could be better off using an angle grinder.
