JET 12 Inch Jointer/Planers – Straight Knife, and Helical Knife Models
The standard model is the JJP-12, whilst the helical model is the JJP-12HH.
- Steel enclosed stand – is a free ground standing planer/jointer
- A high quality planer/jointer made of steel and cast iron
- Quite heavy at 500+ pounds. Will need a mobile base to move around
- Motor is 3HP, 1PH, 230V only, 60Hz, 12.5A
- Jointer max cutting width is 12 inches
- Jointer max cutting depth is 1/8 inches
- Jointer table size is 5 inches long x 12 inches wide
- Planer cutting capacity is 12 inches wide x 5/32 inches deep
- Planer table size is 21-1/4 inches long x 12 inches wide
- Fence size is 43 inches long x 6 inches wide
- Very accurate and precise
- NOTE: this is a 230 volt machine (make sure you have this power capability). Also note the weight of the machine and that you can assemble it safely.
Difference between Straight and Helical Cutterhead models?
The helical model has 54 four sided inserts, whereas the standard model has just 3 straight knives.
The helical knife size is 0.59 x 0.59 x 0.10 inches, while the standard knives are 12 x 1-3/5 x 1/8 inches.
The helical model has a feed rate of 12 fpm, whilst the straight cutter model has a feed rate of 20 fpm.
