Allpowers Flexible Solar Panel Review

Allpowers 100 Watt 18 Volts Flexible Solar Panel

What’s Good About This 100 Watt Panel?

  • 100 Watt solar panel
  • Rated at 18 volts – can charge 12 volt batteries in various applications like for Rv’s, cabins, boats, yachts, cars, vans, motorbikes and even some electric bikes
  • Extremely portable – can be transported, hung and removed from various surfaces
  • Semi flexible panel – Allpowers claims it has up to 30 degrees of curvature in the panel – good for uneven surfaces and curved surfaces. Frameless design also helps with the bending
  • Panel dimensions are 41.33 x 21.25 x 0.09 inches – make sure you have enough room for one or multiple panels on the surface you are mounting it on
  • Lightweight – weighs only 3.85lbs
  • Allpowers claims the panel has up to 22-25% efficiency
  • You can apply either temporary or permanent fixings through the prefabricated fixing holes – can even tape or stick the panel down with tape if you want to as a temporary fixing
  • 1000V maximum system voltage – this is 400 volts higher than the Suaoki 100 Watt panel
  • Comes with 70 inch long cables and MC4 connectors
  • FCC, RoHS and CE certified
  • Can be used with a cheap PWM solar controller
  • Weather ratings are:

Air resistance: 50psf (2400 pascals)
Snow resistance: 113psf (5400 pascals)
Hail impact: 25mm (1 inch) at 23 m/s (52mph)

What Isn’t So Great, And Could Be Improved?

  • Be careful when you buy through a third party – check that you get your warranty guarantee
  • Thin film material is more susceptible to sharp objects and rough surfaces than the solid panels – but, it’s still fairly durable to general surfaces
  • Can’t mount this panel on an adjustable tilt rack, or a pole mount > this is more a surface mounting panel
  • Allopowers are not as established as a company like Renogy for example. This isn’t an issue in itself – but it will be interesting to see how long they offer their solar product for, and whether they develop them any further

Allpowers Flexible Solar Panels: Buyer’s Guide

Who Are Allpowers?

Allpowers offer mostly solar products.

Like most other flexible solar panel suppliers – Allpowers haven’t been established very long.

In addition to offering flexible solar panels, Allpowers also offers smaller folding solar panels.

What Do They Do Well With Their Solar Panels?

Their 50 Watt and 100 Watt panels are good value for money compared to what they do

For a flexible solar panel that hasn’t been around that long, it seems to be high quality, and packaged and delivered well

They offer the two main sizes of the flexible panel, and folding panel options

What Could Be Improved With Their Solar Panel Products?

Although there is no major issue with their customer support – they could be more responsive on third party platforms

Over time, it would be nice to see Allpowers continue to develop these panels

Are There Any Other Flexible Solar Panel Brands To Look At?

Yes, Suaoki and HQST are two other brands worth having a look at as a comparison.
